  1. INTRODUCTION

The website available at https://leathersellers.co.uk (the Website) is owned by The Leathersellers’ Company (referred to in this Accessibility Policy as “our“, “us” or “we“).

This statement applies to content published on our Website. It does not apply to our other digital services.

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities both online and offline. We are not subject to The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, but we believe in and remain committed to the principles of the legislation and our aim is for our website to be accessible for all users.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use our Website. For example, our Website will allow you to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts;
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text disappearing off the screen (not including text within a table format);
  • navigate most of the service using just a keyboard;

We are working towards:

  • navigating most of the service using speech recognition software;
  • listening to most of the service using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

We know some parts of our Website is not yet fully accessible, such as some parts of our Website content, which is not yet compliant with WCAG version 2.0 AAA standard (described more fully in section 5 and 6 of this policy).

The majority of our Website is fully accessible including to screen readers and those using assistive technology. This includes the use of text alternatives for links, images and buttons. We’ve also made the Website text simple to understand.

  1. TECHNICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WEBSITE’S ACCESSIBILITY

This Website has been tested by Stark, a digital accessibility test provider: https://www.getstark.co/ and is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 AA standard and is partially compliant with the WCAG version 2.0 AAA standard. We provide further information on the aspects of the Website which are currently partially compliant in section 6 of this policy.

The content that is not accessible is outlined below with details of:

  • where it fails the success criteria
  • planned dates for when issues will be fixed

Some content is not yet WCAG version 2.0 AAA standard complaint but is WCAG version 2.0 AA standard compliant. We are working towards increasing our accessibility in respect of the Website content we produce in the future. The content which is not WCAG version 2.0 AAA standard includes:

  • historic, recorded audio content.
  • historic video content, where the original audio does not include long enough pauses to allow enough time for audio descriptions to provide context to the video.

We are currently working on alternative options, such as descriptive labelling and naming images (where possible) in respect of that content and remain committed to working towards the WCAG version 2.0 AAA standard.
