| Doors from the Assembly Room lead directly into the Reception Room. One of the most distinctive features of the Reception Room was the large Wilton carpet which includes the coats of arms of the Leathersellers' and three other closely allied Livery Companies, the Glovers', Cordwainers' and Saddlers'. |
Also depicted in the carpet design are a wide range of mammals and reptiles used for producing leather, although the omission of the pig, for reasons which are unclear, has often been commented on. |
